Władysław Szpilman - The Great Survivor


How many of you have seen the movie The Pianist?If you have seen that movie, i am sure that you won't forget the title character Władysław Szpilman played by Adrien Brody.Many people think that the movie just a fiction.But the truth is,it's not...It's based on the memoir The Pianist by Władysław Szpilman.The movie shows his survival of second world war.Let's have look at the life of Władysław Szpilman.
Władysław Szpilman learned to play piano from the chopin school of music from warsaw,the capital of poland, where he was born and raised along with his four siblings.The war started in ploand when Władysław Szpilman was working on the polish radio in warsaw.He was the official pianist of the polish radio.The film shows the life of Władysław Szpilman till 1945.Do you know what happend after that?
Władysław Szpilman published the book about his survival in the war in1946.But,the book was banned by the communist government.In the 90's Władysław Szpilman son republished the book and which leads director roman polanski to make The Pianist.Władysław Szpilman married to Halina and they have 2 children.Władysław Szpilman died on 6th july 2000.
